Thank you for your interest in the Big Daddy Baseball League. The BDBL was founded in 1998 with the goal of becoming the most realistic, most interactive, most fun, most exciting and most addictive DMB league in existence. Our league is comprised of 24 of the most knowledgeable, most competitive baseball enthusiasts you'd ever want to meet. We're twenty-four guys, ranging in age from 18 to 48, living in thirteen different states with twenty-four different theories on how best to run a baseball team. Yet we all share one common interest: the elusive pursuit of the coveted BDBL trophy.
If you're reading this, then you must be interested in joining our fraternity. Before you continue, please take a look at our rulebook (if you haven't done so already) to make sure this league is right for you. We are different than most DMB leagues in that: a) we play an expanded schedule that stretches from February to October (with playoffs in November), b) we have a unique contract and salary structure designed to promote parity, competition and realism and c) we use an expanded farm system that can include amateur players as well as professionals.
To be placed on our waiting list, just fill out the application below. We do not take new owners on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, we choose the best applicant on our waiting list any time we have an opening.
We're looking for owners who:
a) know baseball,
b) have the time, dedication and initiative to meet every deadline,
c) will be active in the day-to-day operation of their franchise,
d) will be available to play most games head-to-head,
e) have a long-term interest in this league and a
long-term strategy for success and
f) have a personality and sense of humor consistent with the rest of
us.
Those are the bare-minimum requirements. In addition, we look for owners that have thoughtful opinions on the game of baseball and aren't afraid to express them.
So, if you feel you have what it takes to be a BDBL owner, fill out the form below and the commish will get back to you ASAP. Thanks!
