Rodney Wilkie
I'm sorry to say that Rodney Wilkie passed away today in Wichita, KS from cancer.
I'm a little choked up at the moment and don't really know what else I can tell you. His sister called me with the news. Apparently, he loved this the BDBL and he drove her crazy with his constant talk about the league and his "brothers". She also said that he had really wanted to come to Minnesota this year to meet as many of us as he could. I suppose God had other plans. I told her we all loved Rodney and asked to let us know when arrangements had been made.
I never met Rodney face to face but we would talk on the phone sometimes about the Royals and his team. He was always asking for advice about who he should keep on his Western Kansas Buffaloes and whether or not he should make a trade or not. Of course I'd always tell him that I'm the wrong guy to ask but I'd tell him what I thought anyway. It didn't matter, he always did his own thing. Sometimes he'd call on the phone while we'd play and he'd laugh out loud at the goofy plays that DMB would spout even when he was behind. We'll miss you buddy!

I don’t even know what to say. I didn’t see this coming. I think I was in denial that his condition was as bad as it was.
God...
I just don’t know what to do at this point. That F’ing franchise.

Very sad. Rest in peace Rodney.

Damn.
I had the chance to talk to Rodney a few times while helping him with his router when he first joined. Our chats were always cordial. I regret never getting the opportunity to meet him face to face. He’ll be missed for sure.

Wow.
Sad news. Scot thanks for posting this. I got a chance to meet Rodney and his son at a Royals game a few years ago. Great guy. He really loved baseball.

Trust your coach. Trust your team. Trust yourself.
Re: Rodney Wilkie
This really sucks. I always enjoyed my interactions with Rodney. I believe it was last year that we played some pre-season exhibition games. Had a great time talking about our teams and commenting on some of the super realistic play-by-play (like Big Papi beating out an infield hit). He will be missed.
