1) The software we currently use to create the D-Day pages is accessible to only one person in the league, Greg.
2) Greg has enough to do already.
3) Our original app was only designed that way because we had no other choice at the time.
4) Allowing real-time bidding would eliminate the "three catchers in the same lot" problem we've had since the beginning.
The reason we're voting on this now: It will take quite some time to build and test this new application.
Proposal #1 is to allow real-time bidding. What this means is that instead of having all bids updated at 10:00pm (or whenever) each night, all at the same time, each bid that is entered will be updated immediately until the auction ends. Nothing else about the bidding process will change.
Proposal #2 (which can be enacted only if #1 passes):
21.4 Each day, from January 3rd through January 12th, the auctions for five new players will expire. These auctions will expire at 8:00pm, 8:30pm, 9:00pm, 9:30pm, and 10:00pm ET.
