Flagstaff Out of Office Indefinitely and Implications for Trade Deadline

Postby Peaks » Thu Jul 11, 2019 3:55 pm

As many of you may know from conversations I've had on Facebook, my oldest son is going into the hospital on July 16th for what could be an extended period of time start next week. He has epilepsy and will be undergoing some invasive probes in his brain to try and isolate where the abnormal behavior is coming from and then could potentially have a follow-up surgery to remove or neutralize any areas that can be done. His stay could take up to three weeks or so and there are just too many unknowns or what-if scenarios to give any sort of real timeline for my absence.

I've got all my Chapter 4 series played. No one wants to trade for my guys at this point, so I don't think I'll have to worry about that. It's just my role as VORP Czar and the trade deadline that I'm worried about.

I will have a laptop with me and will try to check on things as I can, but you can understand why my head and heart might not be into things at all times, focusing on more important stuff. I ask everyone use the VORP spreadsheet to check and double-check their trades to make sure everything is above board. I'll do my best to check everything all trades on the deadline, but there could be a chance that is something were to be agreed on tomorrow, that I might not be able to check it for several days or close to the deadline which could hurt someone if they find out a trade has to be nullified and may not have enough time to renegotiate.

I'll also likely be late on the Chapter 5 rotations as well as getting those games played, so I ask for everyone to be patient with me on that.

Thoughts and Prayers Greg. I know I’m new but If there’s anything I can do to help out with VORP. Let me know. Gladly will help out.

Fingers crossed that you get some answers, Hoss. For the love of god, don’t worry about the VORP crap! I’ll happily take over that role and cruelly void any trade that doesn’t fit into our completely arbitrary cap.

I hope everything goes well for your son. I have epilepsy but probably not to that degree. I haven't had a seizure in over 35 years. Once it got under control with medication Ive lived a normal happy life. Good luck.

John, I didn't know that. I'm glad you were able to find a medication that could help control it for you. We haven't had that luck with Cameron, so we're forced to go alternative routes now.

Back for now. Still have to go back to Phoenix for a surgery, but I’ll work on trades sometime in the next few days.
