maybe he should be rated PR-300 as pitcher since that is the last position he played in MLB.

I would recommend we use RF then.

I assume he has a defensive rating at P.

This would also apply to Brendan McKay.

Can’t give him a rating at a position he never played. The rule is clear, a defensive rating would be on last position played in MLB. They did play pitcher and are rated there. So putting them elsewhere would be the same as if you put any other pitcher at a position.

The reason for the DH is to make it "more exciting" for the fans, because no one wants to pay to see a pitcher bunt. That, and the Player's Union, which gets to add an extra expensive player to every AL roster. Neither issue applies to the BDBL.

The DH drains a lot of critical strategy out of the game. If your team is down by one run, in the sixth inning, and your pitcher has thrown 85 pitches, and there are two outs and the bases loaded, and the pitcher is coming to the plate...do you bring in a pinch hitter?

In the AL, there is no decision. Swing away. Just tap the "1" key.

In the NL, there is a game-changing decision to be made.

The entire purpose of managing our games in Diamond Mind is to challenge us, strategically. We've already removed a lot of strategy simply by changes in the game, where the stolen base and bunt have been all but phased out of the game. If you want a game where we simply hit "1-1" and "1" for two hours on a Wednesday night, then adopt the DH. If you want to actually exercise your brain a little bit and challenge yourself, then leave the game alone.

My $.02.

Ohtani's error rating last year, as a pitcher, was Av/66.

Are we seriously saying that he should now be a Pr, with an error rating FIVE TIMES HIGHER...because he didn't pitch last year?

This is, by far, the dumbest rule we have on the books. Why on earth you guys voted to keep it is beyond me.

That’s a great solution for you. The rule clearly states Ohtani is to be rated 300/Pr at pitcher. You’ll never use him there, so you get him unrated for the OF.

I guess it doesn’t apply to McKay since he pitched last year. I forgot Ohtani not.

Just keep putting Pr/300 on the ballot. Like the HOF and auction bidding, I'm sure people will change their minds. Speaking of HOF, when do we get to induct Adrian Beltre into the BDBL HOF?

BDBL HOF voting is in February.

Beltre won't be on my ballot, as I highly suspect he used steroids during the BDBL World Series.

Beltre is not eligible until 2022.
