The polls are now open.
One man's ballot:
OL MVP:
1. Chris Sale. The man won four games and saved seven out of the bullpen in addition to winning 10 games as a starter.
2. Mookie Betts. No way Joplin wins the wildcard without him.
3. Jesus Aguilar. One of the greatest offensive seasons in league history.
OL CY:
1. Chris Sale. See above
2. Jack Flaherty. Finished #2 to Sale in BA, OBP, and SLG.
3. Seth Lugo. I still don't know how Los Altos won so many games with their crappy rotation, but Lugo was a big reason I think.
OL BR:
1. Jesus Aguilar. See above.
2. Mookie Betts. Also above.
3. Ronald Acuna. Big numbers is a small sample.
OL GMOY:
1. Me. The midseason trades for Nimmo, Shaw, and Perez were absolutely key.
2. Jeff. He picked up Hunter Pence and Dan Vogelbach off the scrap heap with the 24th pick of the draft. 'Nuff said.
3. Matt Clemm. Picked up John Means off the scrap heap, traded for Dylan Cease.
OL MOY:
1. Jim Doyle. Yep, I wrote it. His usage of Sale was actually brilliant.
2. Me. 31-14 in one-run games, 11-5 in extra innings, +3 Pythagorian diff.
3. Jeff. I still don't know how Los Altos won so many games with that crappy rotation, but I think I wrote that already.
EL MVP:
1. Christian Yelich. The difference-maker, I think.
2. Manny Machado. First Triple-Crown in BDBL history.
3. Whit Merrifield. Solid all-around season. I didn't even realize he stole 51 bases until I happened to see it.
EL CY:
1. Jacob deGrom. Led the EL in ERA, #2 in wins, top-3 in BA, OBP, and SLG.
2. Max Scherzer. Won 19 games for a crappy SCS team, led the league in K's, top-2 in BA and OBP.
3. Luis Severino. Big reason why Kansas was so dominant this year.
EL BR:
1. Manny Machado. See above.
2. Christian Yelich. Combine his OL and EL stats and you could argue he was the best hitter in 2019.
3. Mike Trout. Just another outstanding season. Yawn.
EL GMOY:
1. Bob Sylvester. Went from 100 losses to 90 wins. Acquired Giolito, Suarez, Alonso, Cain, and Upton in trade.
2. Chris Luhning. Added Hughes and Cano in trade.
3. Tony Chamra. Landed the biggest fish of the 2019 trading season in Yelich.
EL MOY:
1. Bob Sylvester. Team does not look like a division-winner on paper! Pythag. diff. of +6. 18-6 in extra-innings!
2. Scott Romonosky. Also doesn't look like a playoffs team on paper. Also +6 Pythag. diff. 30-17 in one-run games.
3. Chris Luhning. 16 -- SIXTEEN! -- come-from-behind wins. Managing had to play a part in that.
2019 Awards Voting
Re: 2019 Awards Voting
Bump. Only half the teams have voted so far.
Re: 2019 Awards Voting
One last bump. Only 16 votes so far. Voter apathy is a huge problem in this country!
