2020 Hall of Fame
Re: 2020 Hall of Fame
Not that we really ever need it, but why do we limit ourselves to 10 votes? I thought we all pretty much agreed that RL HOF rule was dumb?

Abreu
D. Ortiz
A. Rod
R. Halladay
Abreu posted a 60 WAR
D. Ortiz posted a 55 WAR
Halladay posted a 64 WAR
Assuming they performed at same level in the BDBL as in the MLB , I think Abreu and Halladay are worthy candidates for the BDBL HOF.

If only there were some way to know how they performed in the BDBL...

Re: 2020 Hall of Fame
Don't forget to vote for Edmonds. EX defense in center every single year along with that crazy good OPS
Re: 2020 Hall of Fame
My issue with Edmonds is the same as last year: he only played seven full seasons in the BDBL.
Re: 2020 Hall of Fame
I voted for Ortiz, Arod, and Abreu.
Did Jim really vote based on MLB performance?

I voted for Oswalt, Halladay, Ortiz and Victor Martinez (who I drafted first in the minors). I couldnt vote for A-Rod since he was suspended for PED cheating.

Good lord.
You know Ortiz was also taking 'roids, right? And Bonds, Manny, and Sheffield are already in the BDBL HOF. Let's not go down that ridiculous road.

When did that happen? He was on the Jamboree for 13 of his 20 BDBL seasons and he was never suspended nor did he use when he was with our franchise. In fact, I have strict oversight with cameras in the locker room.
Maybe when he was on Sylmar? Or Flagstaff? Does DMB even have PEDs?

Re: 2020 Hall of Fame
I voted for Edmunds. Have to account for his defense like Bobby said, and while he only played 7 years, it was a great 7 years. Career 900+ OPS in BDBL.
I voted for Halladay, but not Oswalt (sorry but a 3.88 CERA isn’t great). I voted for Arod and Ortiz too I believe

Re: 2020 Hall of Fame
Fun fact about Oswalt. Here is a list of all the pitchers in BDBL history who won 19 or more games in a season five times:
Roy Oswalt
Randy Johnson
Clayton Kershaw
That's it!

I’m going to blow the whistle right now to admit that the Furies manager, and can confirm other franchise managers, are known to indulge in performance enhancing substances during games, and other times too.
I certainly hope this admission doesn’t impact any persons future considerations for the HOF down the road.

Good thing wins don't mean anything. He played for Allentown, Chicago and Kansas! I could have won 19 games on those teams!
Agree that he had a nice career, but I just couldn't vote in a guy with more hits given up than innings. Only posted an ERA under 3 once in his career. Wish we could see ERA+, though that's a way too complicated stat for DMB.

Re: 2020 Hall of Fame
I drank a loaded Starbucks mocha today while playing the Mustangs. I think it made my fingers jittery as I poked the 1 key once in awhile. Not sure it enhanced my performance
