Unbelievably impressive.
Seven pitches in his first inning -- all ground ball outs.
Then, in his second inning, he threw a 1-1 curve to Miguel Cabrera that buckled his knees. Another curve that missed inside, and then followed that with a 100-mph fastball that Miggy swung under and missed by about a foot.
The last batter he faced (Scott Sizemore), he fell behind 3-0, came back with a fastball down the middle, and another that painted the outside corner. Then, he threw a slow 3-2 curve that just dropped in out of nowhere. Sizemore didn't even swing. How could he?
This kid is so good, it almost seems unfair.
Of course, no matter how good he is, he'll post a 5.00+ ERA for me in this league. But still, he's incredibly fun to watch. _________________
