Game Five With their backs to the wall trailing the series three games to one the Marauders threw Tim Belcher against Tom Glavine. The champaign was on ice in the visitors clubhouse, but the Marauders wanted no part of it. Greg Vaughn, in the midst of a dismal championship series, hit a two-run homer in the 1st giving the Slyme a two run lead. Glavine, struggling with his control, couldn't hold the lead though as the Marauders scored one in the third and two in the fifth to take a 3 - 2 lead. Ken Griffey had two RBI singles and Ray Lankford had an RBI groundout. Belcher had it on cruise control after the first inning as he pitched five scoreless innings and handed over the 3 - 2 lead to his bullpen. From their Chuck McElroy (2 IP, 2 H and 3 K) and Curtis King shutdown the Slyme preserving the victory.
