November 4, 1999 Slyme Wins Game One in Twelve SOUTHERN CAL - The Slyme took Game One in the 1999 EL Division Series by a score of 10 - 4 as an error By Tony Womack opened the door to a six run eighth inning for the Slyme. TigerStrikes reliever Steve Reed gave up six unearned runs in the inning highlighted by 3-run Homer by Tino Martinez. Kenny Lofton, hitless in his first four ABs and being cussed out by Manager Bob Sylvester made up for it by slapping a 3-run double prior to Martinez's shot. Stan Belinda was the winner for the Slyme. Roger Clemens (6.0 IP, 6 hits, 4 BB and 7 K) and CY-Young hopeful Tom Glavine (6.1 IP, 6 hits, 3 BB and 3 K) battled through control problems and each handed the game over to relievers in the seventh. Belinda and Corsi tossed 2 2/3 hitless innings for the Slyme as the Womack/ Reed combination lost the game for the TigerStrikes.
