November 8, 2001 Kile Shuts Down Chicago Attack KANSAS - Thanks to 7 2/3 shutout innings from their ace, Darryl Kile, the Kansas Law Dogs are now one win away from advancing to the EL Championship Series. Kile, pitching on three days rest, allowed just five hits and no walks, striking out eight. Albie Lopez then recorded the final four outs of the game, keeping the rare Fields of Tombstone shutout intact. Kansas built up a three run lead in the first thanks to a leadoff triple by Chris Stynes, a sac fly, a walk and a two-run blast by Carl Everett. They added another in the fourth when Kile doubled with two outs and Stynes followed with an RBI single. In the sixth, Kile connected for his second hit of the day and Stynes followed with an RBI double. Ivan Rodriguez then plated another Kansas runner with a base hit, giving the Law Dogs a 6-0 lead.
